Share some holiday cheers and laughs with us! What is the worst Christmas present you ever received?

One of my worst present goes along with an entire story…

It was the Christmas that the velor suit was THE THING to own. I didn’t fall into the trend the slightest bit, but my older sister had to have one. We went back and forth opening presents and I only had one left. Now, my mother tends to follow the “what you do for one, you must do for another” motto, but I figured this year had to be different since she knew I HATED everything about those velor suits everyone was wearing.

I cracked a joke saying “Ooooh I know what this is! It must be a velor suit!” My father and sister chuckled along with me, and we all began mocking the idea and guessing colors. “Pink!” “Blue!” I then said, “Oh no, I got it… Lime Green!” The three of us laughed, and then I turned my head to my mother. Her smiling face had dropped and had turned slightly white. I immediately knew what was about to happen and I felt awful for already hurting my mothers feelings. I unwrapped the box, opened it, and there it was.. a bright, lime green, matching velor suit.

My poor mother. Needless to say, I returned it.

Now lets hear your worst Christmas present ever!

Your mother should have got you the Captain Knolls Fisherman Hat and Accessory Gift Pack. #supportsmallbusiness #biztalk

Haha! You’re absolutely right she should have! Great Christmas gift for fishermen! Every year after, she stuck closer to “Santa’s Wishlist”! Thanks for the comment!

Not sure about awful but do have awkward: once received a gift and didn’t know exactly what it was. When I opened the gift (right in front of the presenter) I thought oh what a nice scarf but when I took it out of the box it was way too long to be a scarf. Maybe a table runner? Still wasn’t sure?!?! Just said thank u and smiled :) lol

That’s too funny! When I was younger I gave one of my aunts the same perfume year after year for about 15 years. It wasn’t until she passed away and we were cleaning out her house that my couisin told me that she hated that perfume but loved me too much to tell me. We found all 15 bottles in her house. Would have been better giving her some Captain Knoll’s sun screen!
